What is a mobile volumetric batching plant

Is a mobile volumetric batching plant the same with an ordinary mobile concrete plant? In functions they are the same, but in appearances they are not.

A mobile volumetric batching plant is also known as a volumetric concrete mixer or volumetric mobile mixer. It is a concrete mixer mounted on a truck or trailer that contains separate compartments for sand, stone, cement and water. Materials are mixed on a job site to produce the exact amount of concrete needed. Compared to transit concrete mixers, which have to continously run the mixing process, volumetric mixers mix concrete from stored materials either on move or stationary at site. This approach is considered economical and less wasteful. Material can also be directly fed into volumetric mixer bins at site.

An ordinary concrete mobile batching plant, on the other hand, consists of systematic batching unit, weighing unit, feeding unit and mixing unit. It’s more complex in structure and larger in capacity. Different from a volumetric plant, it has to be fixed on the ground before getting into work, rather than running on a trailer. Although an ordinary mobile plant has a trailer, too, the trailer is used only to carry the plant structures around in site transfers. The capacity of a mobile volumetirc batching plant is very flexible, for you can produce just as much concrete as you need without no strict limit. An ordinary mobile batching plant, however, is equipped with devices of fixed models and supply concrete for given projects in large quantities.
